Auditioning for TV/Film with Jonathan Bosco and Alyson Leah

(14-young adult)
This workshop is an introduction to auditioning for TV/ film when the director’s in the room. What might the director of the project ask of you that is different from what a casting director would? With young up and coming director/ creator Jonathan Bosco giving the directors point of view, and professional young actress Alyson Leah giving helpful hints from the actor’s point of view this workshop is a great way to hone your auditioning skills whether you are a beginner or already on the auditing circuit.

Friday, November 4th
Neutral Scene Study with Alison Darcy
(14-young adult)

Using Neutral scenes this workshop will examine the many choices actors make when preparing a text.  Tactics, objectives, obstacles, the 5 Uta Hagen questions, stakes and tone will be introduced to a neutral scene by each of the scene partners to create the world the scene inhabits.

Friday, November 25th
Stage Combat with Fred Nguyen
(10 and up)

In this workshop, Fred will go over the basics of Stage Combat. Students will learn the safety rules and how to properly and safely perform various stunts, both as the attacker and the victim. The students will get a chance to practice by learning a short choreography. Since Fred visited most of our classes last season this workshop will of course take all students further than the mini intro you had in class.

Friday, January 27th
Improvisation
With Mike Hughes

(Ages: 14-adult)

The aim of the workshop will be to uncover the intuitive self. Finding an ease in going with what’s happening in front of you. No invention, but rather letting yourself be affected emotionally and physically by the scene you’re playing.  We will explore and create fully formed characters that expand and develop inside a slightly structured improvised soap opera. With our focus being simple plots, tight relationships- with a big focus on the exploration of tension inside relationships.

Friday, February 3rd
Auditioning for TV/Film with Elite Casting
With Rosina Bucci

(Ages: 14-adult)

This workshop is designed to demystify the audition process and enable the young performer to be self-assured and well prepared at every audition. Each participant will be given an age appropriate scene, in advance, which he/she will present to camera once as prepared and a second time with notes from the casting director. We will provide conditions as close to an actual audition as possible.

Comedy with Andy Cuk

(Ages: 10 and up)

“The workshop will look at both physical and scripted humour while working on 2-3 person comedic scenes. The emphasis will be on the different skill set needed for comedy.” This workshop is open to both first timers and those who did this workshop last season. Note, we will work on paired scenes so that each of you can be challenged at the level you are at.

Musical Theatre

If you love to sing and act, this workshop will teach you how to do both at the same time.  You will learn how to put your own fun and creative twist into telling the story of the song you are singing! This is the perfect workshop for anyone who loves musical theatre, or anyone who just loves to perform.

This workshop will explore the process of auditioning for episodic television . Students will be given the opportunity to audition for leading roles as well as guest spots . The workshop will also explore the different styles of TV acting .

Introduction to Modelling with Lindsay Yarrow

(Ages: 8 and up)

This workshop will focus on how to get started as a model, the different types of modelling, and how to build your composite card. This modelling class is an opportunity for new or aspiring models to gain confidence while we focus on providing modelling techniques, industry knowledge, and the ability to perform comfortably on the runway and in front of the camera.

Bio’s for all junior and senior workshops this season at TTT

(In alphabetical order)

Jonathan Bosco started acting professionally at the age of 14 and has since had roles in various  tv shows,  films, and commercials, notably: a supporting role in the indie film “South of the Moon”, He studied cinema at Dawson college and communication studies at Concordia honing his filmmaking craft and shifting from acting to creating his own work. Jonathan has produced, written, directed and starred in a variety of his own short films and comedy skits.

Rosina Bucci is the co-founder of Elite Casting, one of Canada’s most established casting agencies. Rosina has worked as a casting director for film, television, and theatre in both Montreal and Toronto for over 30 years. Her credits include the Quebec mega hit Bon Cop Bad Cop, four seasons of Being Human for SYFY, and Bad Hair Day for Disney Channel. She especially enjoys working with and discovering young talent (Student Bodies, 15/Love).

Andrew Cuk is a professional actor, singer, director and writer for over thirty years. He is the artistic director of the Montreal independent theatre company Canis Tempus and co-artistic director of the opera company Opera da Camera. Andy is currently on the faculty in the Department of Theatre & Music at John Abbott College.

Alison Darcy is the Co-Founder/Artistic Director of Scapegoat Carnivale Theatre and an acting section graduate from the National Theatre School of Canada. She is an actor, director, dramaturge, and teacher – having worked throughout Canada,  the US, UK and South Africa. She is currently writing a new play with Joseph Shragge as part of Infinitheatre’s writers unit.

Mike Hughes Mike Hughes is a performer and teacher. He has performed in Canada and abroad in Europe. He has also worked as a character clown for the Cirque du Soleil. He is currently part-time faculty at Dawson College and teaches the 1st year Improv section at the National Theatre School.

Sarit Klein is an actress, singer, stage manager and director.  Most recent directing credits include the  Just For Laughs award winning play “Adopt This”, and  Joey Elias  one man show “In My Mind and Out of My Head” which was part of Zoofest in 2013, as well as Dan Bingham’s most recent show “Now That I Have Your Attention”.                                                                                                                                  Sarit Klein is a graduate of the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts in Toronto.

Alyson Leah became a professional actor at the age of ten when she was cast as Vicita on the animated series “Arthur.” Later, she voiced Nia on “My Goldfish is Evil” and shortly after that, got her first television credit as an actor on “Prank Patrol.” Her most recent TV credits include 19/2 and “This Life”. She also works in theatre (both musical and straight) and self-produces. Alyson is a graduate of the Bishops University Theatre and music departments.

Fred Nguyen is a writer, actor, fight choreographer and stuntman. Trained in contemporary Wushu and traditional Shaolin Kung-fu, he has choreographed and performed in various films, television series and video games. As an actor, he has appeared on television shows including “This Life” and “19-2″.  He has performed on stage as part of the Peking Opera troupe “Jingju Canada”. His movements can be seen (via motion capture) in video games such as “Rise of the Tomb Raider” and “Deus  Ex: Mankind Divided”. Most recently, he has worked on 2 feature films with talented directors Xavier Dolan and Darren Aronofsky.

Brett Watson has been a professional actor for the past 20 years and has extensive credits in film, tv , theatre and voice . He has worked with some of the industry’s most important directors including Edward Zwick , Roland Emmerich and Todd Haynes. For a full list of all his tv/film credits google him on IMBD.

Lindsay Yarrow began modeling at the age of 14 doing runway shows and photo shoots. Some of the brands and companies she’s worked for include American Apparel, Badgley Mischka Bisang, Holt Renfrew and Influence U. Lindsay has done showroom, runway, photography and fit modeling.
